This Winter, we started off with a rich and important conversation about Evergreen tree with Dr. Trent Preszler online with Birch from Arboretum Detroit. It was fe un way to celebrate the holiday! We are grateful to Mother Justice and sad to say that we have reschedule the Water Bearers Event that was to be held on Dec 18th. We have on online annual Kwanzaa in Kumospace on December 29th at 5pm. There will be community Kwanzaa celebrations at The Wright and Detroit Food Commons at different times. Our 2025 January Virtual Long Read is Cobalt Red Sign up soon. May Dr. Minister Saladin D.S.S. rest well. We received news from our beloved community that Minister, Teacher, Mentor and longtime bookstore friend has passed. Indeed we are very sad, also filled with gratitude for the guidance & friendship he offered us and the continued support from him and the Ascending Church of the Comic Christ of us from our early days as booksellers until the present. Minister Saladin is a great part of why we have a Spirituality and Metaphysics selection and why we and others have a bigger view of ourselves and the importance of self-knowledge.
